Helping out for a good cause, Sarah Jessica Parker was on-hand to kick off the fifth annual "Shop For Public Schools" Program at Barnes & Noble Tribeca in New York City on Wednesday .
Teamed up with Caroline Kennedy, the "Sex and the City" star proudly announced that "for the next week, more than 200 retail locations across the city will donate part of their proceeds to public school libraries."

Of the possibility to help others while doing everyday shopping, Parker pointed out that it is "a great opportunity for all New Yorkers to get involved."

Meanwhile, Ms Kennedy added that the money will help children "learn to love reading, improve their research skills and pursue their dreams."
